This is tantamount to physical and practical theft, which on a moral scale, and according to social norms, is wrong. In addition, morally, it is innate for one to conform to social norms, of which downloading of copyrighted materials is analogous to looting of physical property due to the awareness of the wrongdoing. However, ignorance is no defense and is bliss thus; sharing of copyrighted material over the internet makes, those participating in the issue believe they ar e doing right, but it is wrong. This is concerning the artist not making the amount of financial remuneration that is they should receive. In this light, the artists lose their revenue on a massive scale, meaning that the artists are robbed of their dues, which translates to poor living standards of the said parties. As a result, it is wrong of an individual, in his or her right mind, to deprive another of their deserved standards of living. In relation to the government, the artists that own the copyrighted materials end up making less amounts of money. For this reason, the government rates, which tend to charge higher taxes for increased amounts of revenue, charges the artist less.
